Due to some technical issues, Primary Arms has ended their commission based program with me. Therefore the links to the deals on all of my posts are now gone. They have moved me into a different progarm where I will still be able to review their optics line and share my experiences with them onto you. They make excellent value priced, high end and everything in between quality optical solutions. I look forward to working with this great company and please check out their products at www.primaryarms.com by supporting them, you are supporting me and what I do. I appreciate it, thank you!

First Look: TA31D ACOG with ACSS Reticle from Primary Arms

I got myself a brand new P3 Piston upper from Adams Arms and needed an optic for it. I thought an ACOG would work great and it’d be a great opportunity to go with the ACSS Reticle. Primary Arms sent me:

Trijicon ACOG 4x32mm Scope – Dual Illuminated ACSS Reticle – Green

SKU: TA31-G-ACSS

Along with an American Defense Manufacturing QD mount.

So far, I’ve been taking it everywhere with me to get used to ranging objects and it is quite addicting with glass this clear. I’m planning on a range day and hopefully soon, I’ll be out shooting at distance with the TA31D along with the Platinum 1-8×24 with ACSS Reticle. Stand by, more to come!

P365: First Range Trip

I picked up my Sig Sauer P365 on Monday and today I got to hit the range. It came with 2 Ten round mags and I got a Twelve round extended mag to go with it.

My first range experience was very different from that of mine with the Glock 43. After the first two ten round mags, it got accustomed to it, something that took hundreds of rounds through the G43. A lot has to do with the trigger; it is more refined, smooth and crisp, which is very nice for a stock gun. Here’s the results from the third magazine I fired:

12 rounds at 22 yards. Not bad for me, especially with micro compacts.

Recoil was manageable but still snappy due to it’s size. I would say that it is similar to the G43 in that respect.

I qualified with it to be my back up gun on my first try, something that usually have trouble with small pistols that I don’t have many rounds through.

So far so good. I sold my G43 to buy the P365 and I made the right choice. Stand by for more, that’s all for now!

P320c & P365 size comparison.

Lucas Gun Oil. Great stuff, I’ve been using this on all of my guns for the past few years.

SGI: High Risk Dignitary Protection Course

New Training Opportunity in SoCal from Solutions Group International:

SGI High-Risk Dignitary Protection Course Now Open To Responsible Armed Citizens

SGI is happy to announce we have opened our High Risk Dignitary Protection course to responsible armed citizens. The 4 day, 40 hour HRDP course provides focused, in depth instruction to prepare students for placement on an armed Protective Service Detail (PSD). Students will learn requisite skills for operations in high-threat and non-permissive environments, and will be immersed in rigorous, physically and sensorily challenging training scenarios to test those skills under stress.

The nature of this training will provide students with the background they need to implement contextual, responsive security profiles predicated on evolving threats.

The next HRDP class is scheduled for April 13-16.

Instruction will be provided by currently serving U.S. Department of State Dignitary and Diplomatic Security Service personnel. These instructors work CONUS and OCONUS in environments that range the threat scale. This course was created using the State Department’s DSS model, and was later approved the training of PSD operators providing security to a foreign diplomat and his family. The vast real world experience of SGI’s instructors combines with their ongoing work at home and abroad to ensure this class is kept completely up to date.
